A Seminar at the College of Education Explores the Structural, Optical, and Electrical Properties of Materials

The College of Education at the University of Samarra held a scientific seminar titled “How to Study the Structural, Optical, and Electrical Properties of Materials,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Oraz Abdul Hadi Hussein, a faculty member in the Department of Physics.

Dr. Abdul Hadi aimed through her seminar to clarify the types of laboratory instruments used in the study of the structural and electrical properties of materials.

The seminar focused on the importance of studying these properties due to their significant role in determining the scientific applications of materials based on their characteristics. It also explored the types of laboratory devices used in such studies.

Additionally, the speaker explained the possibilities of analyzing crystal structure, grain size, and surface roughness, as well as measuring structural properties using XRD and AFM devices. She also addressed calculating electrical properties and developing applications for solar cells, as well as optical and gas sensors.

It is worth noting that the importance of such seminars lies in their integration with the academic curriculum for physics students, helping to broaden their understanding and expand their scientific knowledge through practical applications and extracurricular activities.
