Civil Defense Division Organizes a Seminar on Types of Fires and Fire Extinguishers

The Civil Defense Division at the Presidency of the University of Samarra organized an awareness seminar on “Types of Fires and Types of Fire Extinguishers,” in collaboration with the Civil Defense Center in Samarra. The seminar was presented by Lieutenant Colonel Nasser Zaidan Khalaf, Officer Keylan Ayashi Mohammed from the Civil Defense Center, and Mr. Dhia Majid Ayash, head of the university’s Civil Defense Division.
The organizers aimed to strengthen civil defense knowledge and emergency response skills among employees in the university’s civil defense divisions, units, and self-protection teams.
On the practical side, the Civil Defense Division simulated a mock fire in the university’s rear corridor to train attendees on fire extinguishing procedures through hands-on practice, supervised by firefighters from the Civil Defense Center. A fire truck was brought into the university premises to enhance the practical experience and provide a deeper understanding.
It is worth mentioning that this activity marks the second consecutive event organized by the university’s Civil Defense Division, aiming to develop the skills of university staff working in civil defense and self-protection teams.
