Workshop at the College of Engineering Highlights the Mechanism for Evaluating Faculty Performance According to the Bologna Pathway
The College of Engineering at the University of Samarra organized a workshop entitled “Mechanism for Evaluating Faculty Performance According to the Principles and Guidelines of the Bologna Pathway System.” The workshop was delivered by Senior Engineer Mohammed Khalid Mohammed, Head of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division at the college.
The organizers aimed to familiarize engineering faculty with the mechanisms and standards for performance evaluation under the Bologna Pathway system, which is implemented in the college’s academic structure, in an effort to ensure the quality of education and learning.
The workshop began with an introduction to the operational mechanism of the Bologna Pathway Quality Assurance Council and the standards set by the council to guarantee educational quality.
In the same context, participants discussed how to calculate the Academic Performance Index (API) for faculty members, which focuses on three main dimensions: student feedback, evaluation by the department head, and assessment of the professor’s academic portfolio.
The workshop was attended by the college’s faculty and engineering staff, as well as the assistant deans. Attendees praised the efforts of the college’s quality assurance and performance team and their dedication to improving the educational process.
