Director of Registration and Student Affairs Holds Meeting with College Registration Officers

The Assistant Lecturer Miqdad Ali Ahmed, Director of the Department of Registration and Student Affairs, held an extensive meeting in his office with the registration and student affairs officers from the university’s colleges. The meeting aimed to discuss student affairs requirements and to address the obstacles faced by staff working in the registration units.

During the meeting, Ahmed emphasized the importance of adhering to the student affairs regulations outlined in the Student Affairs Procedures Manual, the Admission Regulations, and Examination Instructions No. 134 of 2000, which define the general framework for student registration and affairs in Iraqi universities.

The meeting also addressed the possibility of transferring students from morning to evening studies in response to certain student requests. Such transfers would need to comply with the legal procedures stipulated by ministerial instructions and be within the department’s enrollment capacity.

Additionally, the Director urged the importance of reviewing and auditing all administrative and academic orders related to student admissions and examination participation. He stressed the need to support students’ preferences for their chosen fields of study, provided these do not conflict with the prevailing laws and regulations.

The meeting concluded with the Director commending the efforts of the student affairs staff in the colleges following the Bologna Process, noting that the University of Samarra is considered one of the leading institutions in implementing this system.
