College of Administration and Economics Hosts Seminar on Financial Sustainability and Trade Balance
The College of Administration and Economics at the University of Samarra organized a scientific seminar titled “Financial Sustainability and its Impact on the Trade Balance in Iraq,” presented by Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Rashid, Assist. Lect. Obaida Amer Khudhair, and Assist. Lect. Hatem Kareem Ahmed.
The organizers of the seminar sought to clarify the importance of diversifying income sources, enhancing non-oil productive sectors, and consolidating the culture of rationalizing public spending, in a way that contributes to reducing trade imbalances and supporting sustainable development.
The lecturers reviewed some analytical insights, in addition to the scientific frameworks that contributed to understanding the relationship between financial sustainability and the trade balance, while proposing practical recommendations that enhance the strength of the national economy.
The seminar focused on the concept of financial sustainability and its pivotal role in achieving economic stability, especially in light of the Iraqi economy’s heavy reliance on oil revenues, and the resulting fluctuations in the trade balance according to changes in global prices.
It is worth noting that this seminar came within a series of scientific activities that the College of Administration and Economics is keen to organize, with the aim of enhancing economic awareness, linking theoretical aspects with practical reality, and supporting scientific research to serve development issues in Iraq.
