College of Applied Sciences Hosts Educational Seminar on Developing Female Leadership
The College of Applied Sciences at the University of Samarra organized an educational seminar titled “How to Create a Female Leader”, presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahoud Muzahim Shakir and Lecturer Hanin Khalid Naji, both faculty members of the college.
Dr. Muzahim introduced the traits of a successful leader, distinguished the characteristics of female leaders, explained societal perspectives on women in leadership, and discussed the impact of emotions on decision-making by female leaders.
Ms. Khalid highlighted the reasons behind the scarcity of women in leadership positions and outlined how women can elevate themselves to leadership roles. She also clarified strategies for overcoming the obstacles and challenges women may face.
Both speakers recommended that women be decisive in their decision-making, continuously work on improving their skills and abilities, strengthen their self-confidence, and learn from successful role models by following the paths those role models have paved.
It is worth noting that this seminar was organized by the Women’s Affairs Unit in collaboration with the Media and Government Communication Division at the College of Applied Sciences.
