College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Organizes Workshop to Enhance Gender Cooperation
The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Samarra organized a workshop titled “She and Us” with the aim of fostering constructive cooperation between (genders) within institutions and society.
The workshop was presented by Assist. Lect. (Zain al-Abidin Abbas Eltaif ) and Assist. Lect. (Aseel Saad Fadel).
The organizers of the workshop aimed to develop awareness of the concept of (gender), uncover unconscious biases, and develop effective communication skills.
Aseel clarified various aspects of developing communication skills, including joint work, the impact of social expectations, as well as analyzing realistic case studies, and training participants on mechanisms for gender dialogue and conflict resolution.
Zain, meanwhile, presented a set of interactive activities, including role-playing, a gender expectations map, and designing applicable cooperative initiatives within the institution; the goal was to promote a culture of mutual respect, prepare a supportive work environment, and transform cooperation between women and men from a theoretical concept into a daily practice that contributes to raising productivity and improving performance quality.
For their part, the participants expressed their appreciation for the importance of the presentation and its practical content, affirming its contribution to building a more aware and balanced university environment, in addition to its role in enhancing effective partnership among community members to achieve the institution’s goals.
It is noteworthy that the workshop was organized by the Women’s Affairs Unit in cooperation with the University Psychological Guidance Unit at the College, as part of the monthly plans of the University’s formations to promote the principles of societal sustainable development.
