Green Metric Classification Committee Holds Periodic Meeting in Preparation for Submitting University Data
The Green Metric Classification Committee at the Rectorship of Samarra University held its second periodic meeting in preparation for collecting university data and uploading it via the classification portal by the end of next May.
The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ghassan Fares Atieh —Head of the Committee— in the presence of the Director of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shihab Ahmed Shaukat, and the Director of the Government Media and Communication Department, Assist. Lect. Omar Sajid Hassan, along with a group of staff from the Departments of Planning and Follow-up, Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Construction and Projects, and Diwan Affairs, in addition to a representative from the Electronic Calculator Center and the university laboratories.
The Head of the Committee explained during the meeting the classification requirements and the data to be uploaded for the university’s entry into the 2026 edition, including environmental sustainability, green spaces, alternative energy, as well as building areas and voids, and the number of students and university staff.
The meeting concluded by dividing the requirements according to their main themes and assigning committee members based on their work specializations to collect data and complete their tasks until the next meeting is held.
