President of the University of Samarra Meets with the Mayor of Samarra to Discuss University Projects
Professor Dr. Sabah Allawi Khalaf (President of the University of Samarra) received Dr. Arshad Abdul Salam Mahmoud (Mayor of Samarra) in his office on Monday, December 2.
The two parties discussed the university projects currently under implementation, assigned by the Governor of Salah al-Din to the Food Security Fund, and the delays affecting the completion of some projects. The university president outlined the state of the university and its students, especially regarding the theoretical and practical aspects of student education, which have been impacted by the delays in completing new buildings. This issue has become particularly pressing with the start of the academic year and the increasing number of students, highlighting the urgent need for lecture halls. He emphasized the importance of integration and cooperation with the local government in all fields that serve the city, which he described as deserving of much more effort.
For his part, the Mayor of Samarra affirmed his full support for the University of Samarra within his granted powers, particularly concerning infrastructure, and expressed his commitment to follow up on university projects referred by the governorate to support both the university and the city.
In a separate context, Dr. Allawi extended his gratitude to the Mayor of Samarra for his kind visit and interest in the university and its development. He also praised the efforts of the university’s leadership in advancing its services and focusing on urban development while simultaneously striving for academic and scientific progress.
