Research Team at Samarra University Publishes a Study in a Scopus-Indexed Journal
A research team at Samarra University published a joint study titled: \\\”Efficiency of Using Magnetic Treatment Technology and Ferric Oxide Nanoparticles (Fe₃O₄) in Improving Well Water Quality and Its Impact on Certain Growth Characteristics of Mung Bean (Vigna radiata L.)\\\”.
The research was featured in the Isra University Journal for Applied Sciences (IUJAS), which is classified within the fourth quartile (Q4) of the Scopus database.
The team consisted of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wael Mohammed Mahdi (College of Applied Sciences), Dr. Saeb Jassim Mohammed (College of Applied Sciences) And Lecturer Khalid Saeed Al-Tayf (University Rectorship Staff).
The significance of this research lies in utilizing alternative sources to freshwater, specifically well water, particularly in light of the global freshwater drought crisis, and its impact on Iraq in particular.
The study\\\’s results demonstrated that ferric oxide nanoparticles and magnetic treatment devices play a positive role in treating well water. This was reflected in their impact on the accumulation of certain elements in the mung bean plant and the improvement of its vegetative characteristics.
