The Central Sustainability Committee Holds Its Second Meeting and Sets the Activity Program for Sustainability Week
The Central Committee for Sustainable Energy held its second meeting today, Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Rectorship of Samarra University, in one of the university’s halls.
The meeting was attended by the head and members of the Central Committee, along with members of the subcommittees or their authorized representatives, in addition to some assistant deans of the university’s colleges.
During the meeting, the mechanism for managing the activities and events of Sustainable Energy Week was discussed. This week is scheduled to begin at the start of next week and will continue until its end, along with clarifying the method of reporting activities to the Central Committee.
In the same context, the Chairwoman directed the members of the subcommittees to form work teams under their supervision, to be called (Green Teams), emanating from their colleges and directly linked to these committees, working according to the university’s vision to achieve sustainability requirements. She also directed the involvement of students in their awareness programs, allowing room for discovering their talents, and integrating them into the fields of awareness and guidance.
In turn, the attendees expressed their admiration for the central plan, while simultaneously discussing the colleges’ plans, setting the necessary dates for organizing their events, and reaching a collective agreement on the central activities and the corresponding special activities for each college.
