The College of Physical Education Holds a Seminar on the Importance of Sports Media

The College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Samarra organized an educational seminar titled “The Importance of Sports Media and How to Present Yourself to It,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Wisam Hamid Ali.

In his seminar, Hamid aimed to develop athletes and coaches, preparing them to appear in various media outlets and in front of audiences. The seminar also focused on overcoming the fear of public speaking and cameras. The speaker addressed the significance of sports media, its role in creating an audience for each sport, the types of media outlets, the art of interacting with each platform, the correct method of presenting information to the public, and the necessity of preparation before appearing in the media.

The seminar also concentrated on leveraging sports events and the mechanism for coaches to market themselves to the public through sports media.

Additionally, Hamid emphasized the need to actively enhance the audience’s knowledge of sports programs and to avoid engaging with unprofessional or inexperienced sports media figures. He stressed the importance of the coach’s role in preparing players for media appearances.

The seminar speaker recommended proper interaction with sports media and selecting purposeful sports media that aligns with the audience’s preferences while enabling the coach to promote themselves and their team. Furthermore, he called on media institutions to intensify purposeful sports programs and train well-known athletes to manage these programs.
