The College of Applied Sciences Discusses Renewable Energy in an Educational Seminar

The College of Applied Sciences at the University of Samarra held an awareness seminar titled “Renewable Energy and Its Role in Environmental Preservation.” The seminar was presented by Dr. Saeb Jassim Mohammed, Assistant Lecturer Ali Younis Alwan, and Assistant Lecturer Saeb Zahem Mohammed.

The presenters aimed to introduce the concept of renewable energy, describing it as a type of energy generated from natural sources. They emphasized that renewable energy is inexhaustible despite extensive consumption, constantly replenished, and distinct from non-renewable energy sources due to its unlimited nature and environmental friendliness.

The seminar highlighted various types of renewable energy, including solar energy, bioenergy, wind energy, geothermal energy, hydropower, and tidal energy from oceans.

On another note, Younis stressed the importance of utilizing renewable energy resources to maintain a sustainable energy source that remains unaffected during disasters.

Zahem, in turn, recommended the adoption of renewable energy as a means to reduce global warming, which contributes to drought and climate change. He also emphasized the optimal utilization of various renewable energy production sources while reducing reliance on energy derived from fossil fuels to preserve a balanced ecosystem.
