Training Seminar on Green Chemistry and the Future of Environmental Reality
The College of Applied Sciences at the University of Samarra organized a training course titled “Green Chemistry and the Future of Environmental Reality in Light of the Strategic Vision for Sustainable Development Goals,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Amina Mohammed Jassim, a faculty member in the Department of Applied Chemistry.
Mohammed explained methods for reducing environmental impacts and minimizing the use of toxic chemicals by designing safer materials, as well as the importance of recycling industrial and agricultural waste to transform it into value-added products.
In the same context, the lecturer recommended the need to promote scientific research and to direct postgraduate studies toward the application of green chemistry, in addition to supporting legislation and requiring companies to adopt green chemistry standards in manufacturing processes.
It is worth noting that this seminar comes as part of the university’s and its academic staff’s efforts to promote the concept of sustainable development, use alternative energy, reduce emissions, and implement the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
