University of Samarra Participates in Organizing the Conference on Achieving Social Peace in Salah al-Din Province
The University of Samarra contributed to organizing the Conference on Achieving Social Peace in Salah al-Din Province, held at the University of Tikrit on Wednesday, February 19. The event was under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naim Al-Aboudi, and titled “Tools and Methods to Achieve Social Peace in Salah al-Din Province.” It was a collaborative effort with the University of Tikrit, Imam Al-Azam College (Samarra branch), Imam Ja’far Al-Sadiq University (Dujail branch), Imam College, and the Popular Mobilization Authority.
Representing the University of Samarra were the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Prof. Dr. Kamal Hussein Ahmed; the Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Prof. Dr. Hassan Ahmed Hussein; the Head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division, Asst. Prof. Dr. Adnan Talfah Mohammed; and Dr. Ayman Saleh Mar’i from the College of Islamic Sciences.
The conference covered various topics, including Islamic, legal, political, and humanitarian studies. The University of Samarra distinguished itself by contributing 36 researchers with diverse studies and research in the conference’s fields. Dr. Ayman Saleh Mar’i opened the sessions with his research focusing on methods to achieve social peace derived from the Quran and Sunnah.
In total, the conference featured 107 research papers across political science, law, Islamic studies, and humanities: 41 from the University of Tikrit, 36 from the University of Samarra, 8 from Imam Ja’far Al-Sadiq College, 5 from Imam Al-Azam College, 3 from the Salah al-Din Education Directorate, 2 from the University of Mosul, 2 from the University of Baghdad, and additional contributions from Al-Hadba University, Dhi Qar University, Babylon University, the Southern Technical University, and Al-Jinan University in Lebanon.
This conference was held in response to the recommendations of the Council of Ministers and directives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Its aim was to highlight the role of educational and academic institutions in combating extremism, protecting society from threats to social peace, preserving concepts of brotherhood and peaceful coexistence, and enhancing the cultural and scientific aspects of the community.
