The Ministry of Higher Education announces the rise of the Iraqi research index to 74,000 in Scopus and reveals scientific twinning between public and private universities
To enhance the scientific research path of Iraqi universities in the global capacities, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kazem Abdel Sahib directed the scientific twinning project between public and private universities to crystallize a roadmap aimed to improve the reality of academic scientific research in Iraqi higher education institutions in terms of quantity and quality and enhancing the space Joint supervision in the field of graduate studies, holding conferences, and activating quality assurance and academic accreditation procedures.
In this context, the Scientific Supervision and Evaluation Authority held a consultative meeting in the presence of the head of the organization, Dr. Salah Al-Fatlawi, the advisor Dr. Alaa Abdel-Hassan, the vice presidents of universities for scientific affairs, and in cooperation with the Research and Development Department during which the head of the supervisory authority confirmed that the Ministry is continuing with its scientific strategy to develop and consolidate local journals and its entry into global containers. The Ministry’s advisor stressed the importance of enhancing the international academic reputation, which is measured by the sobriety of scientific research.
The participants gave presentations related to the global publishing paths and the clarification of the mechanism adopted to avoid unreliable journals. The meeting recommended intensifying the workshops related to publishing in the sober international journals, forming committees to check the reliability of scientific journals within the global containers, and proceeding with the strategy of developing the quality of the publication and academic and applied scientific research for Iraqi researchers and supporting the upgrading of scientific journals Iraqi.
