College of Education for Pure Sciences Organizes a Discussion Seminar on the Quality of Education in Universities and Schools
The College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Samarra organized a discussion seminar that addressed “Planning in Improving the Quality of Education in Universities and Schools.” The seminar was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saadoun Mutaab Abd alkarim, a faculty member in the Department of Physics.
Dr. Mutaab explained that the concept of planning is the first cornerstone for building the foundations of the education mechanism’s structure, with the aim of achieving its ultimate goal: to create robust academic institutions and scientific communities that keep pace with the modernity and development of sciences in our current era.
He further stated that in order to reach the goals through the planned means, and achieve the desired outcomes, it is necessary to innovate methods that differ from traditional ones, while adhering to the conditions of performance quality. This is essential to produce sound outcomes that benefit and create generations capable of inventing modern teaching methods, thereby elevating the status of knowledge that makes the nation flourish.
The discussants concluded the seminar by formulating a set of recommendations for educational institutions, including: enriching learners with the five steps in teaching, which are summarized as: (Preparation, Presentation, Discussion, Application, and Evaluation); with the aim of organizing the educational process and allowing learners to begin generating ideas.
