A faculty member at the University of Samarra Publishes Renewable Energy Research in Scopus and Clarivate Indexed Journal

Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ismail Aliwy, a faculty member at the College of Engineering, University of Samarra, has published a joint research paper alongside Iraqi, Arab, and international researchers.

The study was featured in the journal \”Applied Water Science,\” which is ranked in the First Quartile (Q1) within both Scopus and Clarivate databases, and is published by the global German publishing house, Springer Nature.
Research Title:
\”Advances in Pyramid Solar Stills: A Comprehensive Review of Sustainable Innovations in Water Desalination\”

The research provides a comprehensive review of recent developments in pyramid solar stills, focusing on the impact of internal and external modifications, as well as hybrid systems, on enhancing productivity and sustainability. It also includes a critical assessment of the limitations of traditional designs while proposing innovative developmental solutions.

The results demonstrated significant performance improvements, notably Phase Change Materials (PCMs): Increased productivity by 35% to 101.5%, Nanoparticles , Improved efficiency by 6.1% to 54.4%, External Modifications: Boosted yield by up to 194%, with thermal efficiency reaching 62.4% While Hybrid Systems Achieved improvements of up to 166%, although challenges regarding integration and scaling for large-scale applications remain.

The Department of Government Media and Communication congratulates Prof. Dr. Mohammed Ismail Aliwy on his continuous scientific contributions, wishing him ongoing success in his research career to further elevate the academic reputation of the university’s faculty.
