Seminar at the College of Applied Sciences Explains the Application Process and Career Excellence

The Department of Pathological Analysis at the College of Applied Sciences, University of Samarra, organized an educational seminar titled “From Resume to Career Excellence,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Shehab Ahmed Mutlaq and Assistant Lecturer Noor Abdul Ghani Abdul Rahman.

The presenters aimed to highlight the importance of the resume as the first gateway to excellence when applying for jobs, as well as professional methods for writing it. They emphasized enriching the resume with academic certificates, specialized skills, and training courses that showcase the applicant’s talent and competence.

Ahmed explained the scientists’ form and the mechanism for graduate appointments, pointing out the importance of obtaining accredited certificates in computer science, English language, first aid, and laboratory analysis, which are essential criteria in evaluating job applicants.

Abdul Ghani discussed the optimal way to use keywords to attract the attention of hiring managers, provided practical advice on avoiding common mistakes in resume writing, and clarified the significance of job interviews, including strategies for psychological and professional preparation.

In the same context, the presenters recommended emphasizing the role of volunteer work in refining graduates’ personalities and enhancing their practical efficiency. Such experiences are considered a qualitative addition to improve acceptance chances in reputable institutions. They also stressed the importance of body language in conveying confidence and professionalism, and how to avoid gestures that negatively impact the applicant’s evaluation.
