The University of Samarra Initiates a Tree Planting Campaign in Support of the Prime Minister’s Decision

The University of Samarra, through its various formations, has launched a tree-planting campaign in support of the Prime Minister’s decision announced earlier this month. The campaign includes planting five million trees across the country.
The campaign saw the participation of the two vice presidents of the University of Samarra (Scientific and Administrative), along with some faculty members, to encourage the university’s staff and faculty to participate in this initiative and to instill a spirit of volunteerism in serving the university.
The University’s Tree Planting Unit, in collaboration with the Office Affairs Department, has planted 350 trees of various types, including acacia, moringa, mimosas, and some types of rose trees, aiming to increase the green spaces within the university campus.
The campaign has expanded to cover approximately 5,000 square meters within the university’s corridors, gardens, and colleges, enhanced by a drip and spray irrigation system to ensure the sustainability of these plants.
