A Training Workshop at the College of Education on Teaching Children the Basics of Mathematics

The Department of Physics at the College of Education organized a training workshop titled “How to Teach Children Mathematics Easily,” presented by Dr. Dunia Abdul Hamid Hassan and Assistant Professor Hossam Abdul Hamid Hussein.

The workshop aimed to enhance the scientific skills of students by introducing them to modern methods of teaching mathematics and exploring the best free online platforms that offer the latest tools to make teaching mathematics to children easier.

Dr. Abdul Hamid showcased various techniques to make mathematics an enjoyable and approachable subject for children, ensuring that it does not lead to difficulties or challenges for them in the future. She emphasized using tangible objects to teach concepts such as counting, addition, subtraction, and addition facts. Additionally, she highlighted the importance of applying mathematics indirectly in daily life activities, helping children understand its significance and benefits in their lives.

The workshop concluded with a focus on the importance of utilizing free online platforms filled with educational games and worksheets with graded difficulty levels for children aged 3 to 15. Participants were also trained on how to navigate these platforms effectively to maximize their benefits.
