Two teaching staff members at the College of Applied Sciences publish a scientific research paper in a Scopus-indexed journal.
Dr. Haneen Khalid Naji and Assistant Teacher Amna Salman Ali (the two teaching staff members) at the College of Applied Sciences, Samarra University, published a scientific research paper in the University of Israa Journal of Applied Sciences, classified in the fourth quartile (Q4) in the Scopus database.
The research was titled \’Virulence Factors and Antibiotic Susceptibility Patterns of Proteus mirabilis Bacteria Strains Isolated from Urinary Tract Infection Patients,\’ aiming to study the virulence factors possessed by Proteus mirabilis bacteria, in addition to determining their susceptibility and resistance patterns to common antibiotics.
The study results showed that these Proteus mirabilis bacteria possess high resistance to several antibiotics, in contrast to good sensitivity to some other antibiotics, reflecting the importance of conducting sensitivity tests before prescribing treatment, as well as their possession of high virulence factors, represented by the production of the urease enzyme.
In turn, the Department of Media and Government Communication congratulates the two teaching staff members in Applied Sciences on their new scientific output, wishing them continued success in the days to come.
