The Purple Economy Discussed in a Scientific Seminar at the College of Administration and Economics

A scientific seminar titled “Characteristics, Importance, and Requirements of the Purple Economy” was held at the College of Administration and Economics at the University of Samarra. The seminar was presented by Assistant Lecturer (Mohammed Amin Haitham), Assistant Lecturer (Huda Fadel Khudair), and Assistant Lecturer (Hatem Kareem Ahmed).

The seminar aimed to introduce the concept of the “Purple Economy,” which focuses on enhancing cultural diversity and sustainability by leveraging cultural identity and civilizational heritage to contribute to the country’s economy at the societal level.

Amin explained that the Purple Economy is an innovative economic model that prioritizes human development as its core focus. Khudair emphasized that it fosters a sense of belonging and preserves the cultural heritage of nations, noting that providing individuals with employment opportunities within their local environment enables creativity and strengthens their connection to their identity.

In turn, Ahmed highlighted that the Purple Economy increases the value of both industrial and service products, as it contributes to fostering a sense of belonging and maintaining human identity.

The seminar concluded with significant recommendations, including the need to institutionalize the Purple Economy by supporting work sectors rooted in heritage and culture.
