College of Physical Education and Sports Science Discusses AI Program in Motion Analysis in a Scientific Symposium

The College of Physical Education and Sports Science at the University of Samarra discussed the “Artificial Intelligence Program (On Form) in Motion Analysis” in a scientific symposium presented by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Salih Khalil, Prof. Dr. Hasna Sattar Jabbar from the University of Baghdad, and Assist. Lect Muthanna Harith Karim.

The organizers of the symposium aimed to adopt smart technologies within the fields of sports science and highlight the advanced role played by the (On Form) program as one of the artificial intelligence applications based on video analysis and computer vision in developing methods of motion analysis and evaluating athletes’ skill performance.

The lecturers addressed the program’s mechanisms for analyzing movement by tracking motion paths, measuring joint angles, and monitoring precise technical errors, in addition to converting motion scenes into quantitative data that contributes to increasing the objectivity of evaluation.

In the same context, the symposium focused on the scientific value of using smart algorithms in the training process and their role in supporting decision-making, reducing human errors, and improving the design of data-driven training programs.

The symposium concluded with a set of scientific and practical visions for employing the (On Form) program in scientific research and training environments, noting the modern trends in digital transformation in sports science specializations, and the impact of artificial intelligence on raising the quality of biomechanical analysis and improving athletic performance, in line with technological developments and contributing to the development of academic and training work and the advancement of competence and skill in the sports field.
