President of Samarra University Welcomes Tribal Leaders and Community Figures

Professor Dr. Sabah Al-Alawi Al-Samarrai, President of Samarra University, received Sheikh Majid Makhlaf Al-Habib and accompanying dignitaries of the city at his office on Monday, April 7.

During the meeting, the guests discussed the significance of the university and its academic and scholarly status in the city, as well as the role of its graduates in contributing to the development and advancement of Samarra in a manner worthy of the city’s reputation.

The delegation praised the university’s contributions and its active academic members in the city, particularly highlighting the role of the university’s consulting office during its leadership of the Samarra sewage project and the involvement of engineers in it.

In turn, the University President emphasized the importance of the university’s progress and development based on scientific competence, away from favoritism and tribal affiliations, affirming the commitment to standards of merit and professionalism. The visiting sheikhs echoed this sentiment, expressing that the university bears the name of Samarra and thus represents a microcosm of Iraq, where everyone cooperates to showcase the bright face of our beloved country through academic and professional success, which they have witnessed in the university’s leadership.

In a related context, Dr. Alawi stated the university’s and its staff’s dedication to addressing societal challenges facing the city, particularly through the efforts of academics and specialists in religious and social sciences from the university, and continuing to monitor issues of public concern to foster progress through all available means.
