President of the University of Samarra Chairs Meeting to Explore the Cultural and Historical Depth of Baghdad

Professor Dr. Sabah Alawi Khalaf, President of the University of Samarra, chaired an emergency meeting in his office that included the Vice President for Scientific Affairs and directors of the Departments of Scholarships and Cultural Relations, Scientific Affairs, and Quality Assurance and University Performance.

The attendees discussed mechanisms for implementing the recommendations of the National Permanent Committee for Community Awareness and Guidance, as outlined in a letter from the Department of Research and Development at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, issued on April 9.

The university president directed the preparation of a work plan within the university and its branches. This plan includes designing posters, launching print distribution campaigns, and organizing photo exhibitions that reflect the cultural and historical depth of Baghdad Governorate, in coordination with the Media and Archaeology Departments of the College of Arts, as well as the Media and Government Communication Department at the university presidency.

Additionally, Dr. Alawi emphasized the need for the Continuing Education Center and college deanships to organize awareness seminars and workshops focused on highlighting the civilizational and historical role of Baghdad, the capital.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research will hold a meeting for scientific assistants on the evening of Friday, April 18, 2025, to discuss the implementation of the recommendations and present university activity plans.
