Samarra University’s College of Engineering Prepares to Launch a New Master’s Program
The Dean of the College of Engineering at Samarra University, Assistant Professor Dr. Amjad Saleh Mahmoud, welcomed the ministerial committee assigned to oversee the establishment of a Master’s program in the Civil Engineering Department.
The meeting was preceded by an extensive discussion involving faculty members and department heads to review the requirements for the new program. Key topics included program objectives and outcomes, admission requirements, the academic curriculum, and the qualifications of faculty members eligible to teach at the graduate level.
During their visit, the committee members inspected the college’s facilities, including lecture halls and laboratories in the new building, where the Civil Engineering Department is expected to be relocated, as well as the college library.
Additionally, the committee reviewed the proposed curriculum for the new program and assessed the college’s readiness to host graduate students in this specialization.
The Dean of Engineering emphasized the college’s commitment to advancing graduate programs and expanding engineering specializations to meet societal needs.
It is worth noting that the university administration is dedicated to enhancing academic excellence, particularly through the continuous introduction of new programs, with a strong focus on postgraduate studies.
