The College of Applied Sciences Raises Awareness About Antibiotics Through a Campaign in Its Premises
The College of Applied Sciences at the University of Samarra organized an awareness campaign about antibiotics under the title “Antibiotics Are Not a Solution”, as part of Antibiotics Awareness Week.
The campaign included the distribution of an educational and informative brochure to the college staff and students, aiming to provide them with essential information about antibiotics and the appropriate ways to use them based on the specific illnesses that require antibiotics.
The brochure contained scientific facts and information about the importance of antibiotics, emphasizing the necessity of their proper use while avoiding arbitrary and incorrect usage, particularly during the seasonal flu and common cold period. This effort aims to reduce the spread of antibiotic resistance.
It is worth noting that drugs have become less effective in combating infection-causing microbes due to excessive and random use of antibiotics. Antimicrobial resistance is not a future threat; it is already causing significant harm to public health.
