The History Department at the College of Arts Organizes an Academic Visit to the Iraqi National Museum
The History Department at the College of Arts, University of Samarra, organized an academic visit to the Iraqi National Museum in Baghdad. The visit included a group of faculty members and staff from the department, aiming to explore Iraq’s historical heritage and enhance students’ awareness of the ancient civilization of Mesopotamia.
During the visit, the delegation viewed some of the country’s artifacts, particularly those from the Assyrian, Akkadian, and Babylonian civilizations, as well as the Islamic heritage that reflects the succession of eras in Iraq’s history. Special attention was given to the Islamic states, characterized by their diverse architectural styles.
The faculty emphasized the importance of this visit in enriching students’ knowledge by integrating theoretical and practical aspects. Additionally, they highlighted its role in raising awareness of national heritage and preserving the history and legacy of the country.
