The University of Samarra Opens Its Doors to the Iraqi Football Association

The University of Samarra has opened its doors to host members of the Salahuddin branch of the Iraqi Football Association for the Asian (B) category training course, aimed at developing coaches in Salahuddin Governorate. The course, organized by the association in cooperation with the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, runs from October 11-30.

The course saw notable attendance from athletes, especially as former Iraqi national team star (Karim Mohammed Alawi) and Captain (Saad Hafiz) conducted the training for the participants as Asian-certified coaches.

Additionally, Professor Dr. Zuheir Qasim Mohammed (Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs) participated in awarding the certificates to the course participants and the appreciation certificates to the lecturers during the closing ceremony, attended by Mr. Jawad Najm Abdullah, President of the Salahuddin Football Association.

Professor Dr. Sabah Alawi Khalaf (President of the University) welcomed the delegation from the Iraqi Football Association, the Asian-certified trainers, and the course participants, hosting them in his office. He emphasized the University of Samarra’s readiness to collaborate with all sports activities, expressing its preparedness to open its doors, halls, and fields for various sports and training events.

He added that the University of Samarra is keen to enhance cooperation with government institutions across different sectors and fields of work, aiming to strengthen the university’s role in developing sports and administrative staff within the university and other institutions.
