Two Faculty Members at the University of Samarra Publish Joint Research in Scopus and Clarivate Indexed Journal
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammed Sherif Mohammed and Dr. Thayer Khalil Saleh, faculty members at the College of Education for Pure Sciences, University of Samarra, have published a scientific research paper in the Journal of Optics.
The journal is published by Springer Nature (India) and is ranked within the third quartile (Q3) in both Scopus and Clarivate databases.
The research, titled \”Influence of Film Thickness on the Physical Properties of CdSe Thin Films\” aimed to fabricate thin films of Cadmium Selenide (CdSe) using the thermal evaporation method on glass substrates at room temperature (300 { K}).
The researchers utilized a range of advanced techniques to characterize the thin films, including X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) And Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) Analysis of optical absorption behavior.
The study observed a decrease in absorption with increasing wavelength, alongside shifts in the absorption coefficient and energy gap.
These findings confirm the suitability of these films for future optical and electronic applications.
The results indicate that this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the structural and optical properties of CdSe thin films, opening new horizons for their use in advanced technological applications.
The Department of Media and Government Communication congratulates the two researchers on their new scientific achievement, wishing them continued success in their academic and research careers.
