Two lecturers at the University of Samarra publish a joint scientific research paper in a journal indexed in the Scopus database.

Dr. Rafid Majid Mukhlif and Assist. Lect. Ahmed Ayoub Ibrahim (the two lecturers) at the College of Applied Sciences at the University of Samarra, published a joint scientific research paper in the journal (Notulae Botanicae Horti Agrobotanici Cluj-Napoca) affiliated with the University of Agricultural Sciences in Cluj-Napoca – Romania, classified in the second quartile Q2 in the Scopus database.

The research was titled \”Chemical classification and biological efficacy of the two dodder species Cuscuta monogyna and C. chinensis: GC-MS analysis and evaluation of antioxidant and biofilm efficacy,\” in which the two researchers sought to identify the chemical composition of the two dodder plant species, determine the active chemical compounds present in the two plants, and evaluate the antioxidant and biofilm efficacy of the extracts of the two plants.

The results of the study showed the presence of \”26\” chemical compounds in the one-styled dodder plant, and \”22\” compounds in the Chinese dodder plant, with fatty acids and their derivatives being among the most prominent identified chemical compounds, such as: ricinoleic acid, and cis-vaccenic acid.

In turn, the Department of Media and Government Communication congratulates the two lecturers at the College of Applied Sciences on their new scientific output, wishing them continued success in their academic and research careers.
