Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs Chairs the First Meeting of the Science and Technology Gardens Department
Prof. Dr. Kamal Hussein Ahmed, Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs, chaired the first meeting of the (newly established) Science and Technology Gardens Department. The meeting was held in his office and attended by the Department Director and the heads of the divisions and units affiliated with it across the university’s formations.
The attendees aimed to study the readiness of the university and its formations to organize and adopt the Department’s scientific and technological activities and events, in preparation for the upcoming Entrepreneurship Week.
Hussein praised the efforts made by the department’s management and staff across the university formations in organizing work and developing executive plans for scientific and entrepreneurial activities. He simultaneously called for an intensification of events and activities during Entrepreneurship Week, which will contribute to spreading the culture of entrepreneurship among students and stimulating creative, viable projects.
In a related context, the Scientific Vice Rector confirmed that the University of Samarra is proceeding with adopting programs and initiatives that support innovation and are linked to the outputs of the scientific departments and the needs of the labor market.
He added that the Science and Technology Gardens Department will constitute a fundamental platform for incubating entrepreneurial ideas and projects and transforming them into productive ventures with a tangible economic and social impact. He affirmed that the establishment of the department represents a qualitative addition to the university’s progress in the fields of scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The meeting concluded by emphasizing the necessity of strengthening cooperation between the Department’s divisions and units to achieve the objectives set within the university’s vision of supporting scientific research and entrepreneurship. He noted the University Presidency’s interest in developing the environment for innovation and entrepreneurship in line with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
