Workshop at the College of Applied Sciences on the Green Synthesis of Nanomaterials
The Department of Biotechnology at the College of Applied Sciences organized a workshop titled “Green Synthesis of Therapeutic Nanomaterials and Their Methods of Administration to Mice and Rabbits.”
The presenters aimed to enhance green synthesis methods for producing nanomaterials with specific sizes, shapes, and surface properties, allowing for better control after evaluating their physical and chemical characteristics. Additionally, they focused on developing safe techniques for laboratory experiments.
The workshop concluded with several recommendations, including:
- Nanomaterials synthesized using green methods demonstrated enhanced biocompatibility and reduced cytotoxicity compared to those produced using chemical or physical methods.
- Intravenous administration provides precise control over biological distribution, while oral administration ensures ease of use, facilitating studies on chronic exposure or long-term dosing.
