An employee at Samarra University obtains a master’s degree from a Turkish university

Employee Huda Matar Ibrahim from the Department of Chemistry at the College of the Education / University of Samarra obtained a master’s degree from the Department of Chemical Engineering at Van Yusngweil University in Turkey.
For her master thesis, “Absorbing the bright blue dye by AMBERLITE IR120: The performance of some isotherms in the process.
This study investigated Brilliant Blue dye’s adsorption by a new bio-sorbent, Amberlite IR 120 / Agaricus Campestris. As a result of the initial processes, compatible isotherms were found by examining the effects of models such as Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin, and Harkins Jura Adsorption Isotherms on the process. As a result of the calculations, the Freundlich adsorption isotherm with a regression coefficient of 96% was the most suitable model for the study.
In the next part of the thesis, we examined the interaction between the sorbent and the dye spectroscopically and electronically. Voluntarily, the fixation mechanism was demonstrated and added to the thesis for characterizations. Here, the vibrational bands of some lost and newly formed organic compounds are compared with the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrophotometer (FTIR).
At the same time, the interpretations were made by giving nanometric images before and after the operation using energy-dispersive X-ray electron microscopy (SEM-EDX). As a result, the thesis was presented in the literature by providing an example of relevant dye removal in industrial, domestic, and submerged water.
