The President of Samarra University Receives the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Services Affairs and His Accompanying Delegation
Professor Dr. Sabah Allawi Khalaf (President of Samarra University) welcomed the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Services Affairs, Mr. Muthar Al-Shaalan, and his accompanying delegation in his office. The delegation included a committee of engineers from the Prime Minister’s Office tasked with overseeing projects within the government program, in addition to the mayor of Samarra and the director of its municipality.
The discussions focused on ongoing constructions and buildings under development, the new reconstruction efforts taking place at the university, as well as the urban planning strategies laid out for the coming years. Special emphasis was placed on infrastructure and its importance to the university, along with projects for the university city anticipated by the region.
Dr. Allawi emphasized the continuous follow-up on university projects included in the investment plan, as well as projects assigned to the Salahuddin Governorate Directorate under the Food Security Law.
He added that, despite being one of the newly established universities in Iraq, Samarra University stands out among its peers due to having a designated plot of land for the construction of the university city, with ownership officially registered in its name. Additionally, the engineering designs are fully prepared, making it ready to begin construction phases.
On another note, the engineering delegation inspected the progress of the industrial pharmacy project currently under construction through a field visit. They were accompanied by the Director of the Reconstruction and Projects Department at the university and the resident engineer for the project.
The resident engineer explained that the technical completion rate of the project has reached 66%, while the financial completion rate stands at 34%. He noted that financial funding delays have been a major reason for the delay in completing the work, finishing the project, and opening the college.
