College of Education Organizes a Training Workshop on Verifying Globally Indexed Journals

The College of Education at the University of Samarra organized a scientific training workshop that explored and identified “the steps for verifying globally indexed journals according to the current regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.” The workshop was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdul Sattar Abdullah Hamad and Assistant Professor Hussam Abdul Hamid Hussein.

During the workshop, the presenters emphasized the importance of adhering to the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education and ensuring alignment between the general and specific fields of study in academic promotion research. They also discussed methods for identifying fake and commercial journals.

The workshop concluded with a set of recommendations, emphasizing the importance of verifying journals through classification and quality websites. Additionally, the recommendations highlighted the need to focus on alternative metrics for evaluating journals, particularly by utilizing scientific references available on academic social media platforms.
