A faculty member at Samarra University publishes a scientific paper in a journal indexed by Scopus

Dr. Nour Al-Din Faisal Ibrahim, a faculty member at the College of Education at Samarra University, has published a scientific paper in the Iraqi National Journal of Earth Sciences, which is classified as a Q4 journal within Scopus indexing.

The research was published in the 25th volume, first issue, released this January, under the title: “Hydrological Analysis and Modeling of Surface Runoff for Watersheds in the Al-Shirqat District – Salah Al-Din Governorate: A Comparative Study Between the CN-SCS and Snyder Methods.”

The study covered an area of over 1,558 km² within the Al-Shirqat District. The watersheds in this area are considered seasonal streams, often experiencing torrential rainfall that occurs irregularly in terms of volume and timing.

The study’s findings indicated that CN values can lead to the generation of surface runoff and identified suitable locations for utilizing floodwaters. Additionally, the Tp model showed that an increase in ct values leads to a longer basin response time to reach peak flow, attributed to reduced slope gradients.
