Assistant Lecturer Bassam Abdul Hakim Wahib, a faculty member in the College of Education, was honored in the Arab Republic of Egypt after securing second place in the poetry category and winning the “Promising Pens” award among a distinguished group of young poets from across the Arab world.
The award ceremony was sponsored by Professor Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, and attended by Saudi author and critic Abeer Samkari.

They also commended Iraq’s cultural contributions, particularly from the city of Samarra, describing it as a beacon of creativity that has produced literary and intellectual talents over the years.
