Seminar on the Impact of Government Support on the Spread of Renewable Energy

The Department of Media and Government Communication at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Samarra, organized an awareness seminar titled “Government Support and Its Impact on the Spread of Renewable Energy in Iraq,” presented by Dr. Mohammed Hamed Majid.

The seminar aimed to introduce the concept of renewable energy and its future uses, describing it as energy derived from natural, inexhaustible environmental resources, and to highlight its production sources.

Renewable energy is considered environmentally friendly, unlike traditional energy sources that rely on fossil fuels and petroleum, which harm the environment, cause global warming, and lead to environmental pollution with their toxic waste, impacting the lives of living beings on Earth, including humans.

In this context, Dr. Hamed explained that this type of energy is inexhaustible, and its name reflects the fact that it renews itself once it is about to deplete, with sources such as tidal energy and geothermal energy.

The lecturer emphasized the necessity of government support for the use of alternative energy and raising awareness about its sources, given that it is environmentally friendly and does not produce any toxic gases. Additionally, it is readily available and not limited to specific locations.

It is worth mentioning that this seminar was part of the university’s efforts, along with its staff, to implement the recommendations of the Prime Minister’s Office in raising public awareness about using alternative energy and reducing emissions.
