A Workshop on Leadership Strategies Organized by the College of Applied Sciences in Conjunction with Global Entrepreneurship Week
The College of Applied Sciences at the University of Samarra organized a workshop on “Strategies for Developing and Enhancing Leadership and Innovation in Education and Scientific Research” in alignment with Global Entrepreneurship Week. The workshop was delivered by Professor Dr. Imad Tariq Hanoun.
The speaker aimed to define leadership as an art that involves motivating a group of people to achieve a shared goal. Leadership, in this context, works to inspire employees to be creative in their tasks, achieve the goals of their institution or company, and encourage them to increase productivity and undertake additional efforts that contribute to the advancement of the organization.
During the seminar, the speaker outlined the characteristics of leadership in the workplace, including flexibility, adaptability, earning respect, self-actualization through the discovery of leadership skills, understanding the best methods for project management, and faster learning.
Dr. Tariq also emphasized the importance of motivational techniques, which are key elements of leadership. These techniques ensure the effective communication of ideas from leaders to their teams, enabling them to work, produce, and act appropriately.
It is worth noting that this activity was part of a series of events organized by the presidency of the University of Samarra to coincide with Global Entrepreneurship Week, which begins at the start of December each year.
