Samarra University Employee Earns a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Tikrit University

Mr. Hussam Najah Badri, an employee in the Construction and Projects Department at the Presidency of Samarra University, has earned a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the College of Engineering at Tikrit University.

His thesis, titled “Reinforced Concrete Columns Made with Recycled Concrete Aggregate: An Experimental and Theoretical Study”, aimed to explore the feasibility of using recycled concrete aggregate and its effect on the axial compressive strength of short columns.

In his research, Najah focused on improving recycled concrete aggregate by treating it through immersion in a sodium hydroxide solution and using cement mortar for further enhancement.

The study’s results revealed that columns containing treated recycled aggregate exhibited a higher maximum load-bearing capacity than conventional concrete columns.

The Department of Media and Government Communication extends congratulations on behalf of the faculty and staff of Samarra University to Mr. Hussam Najah Nouri on earning his postgraduate degree, wishing him continued success in the future.
