Drugs and Their Impact on the General Economy Discussed in an Islamic Sciences Seminar
The College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Samarra held a scientific seminar titled “The Impact of Drugs on the General Economy,” presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Ahmed Wissam Al-Din Qawwam, and Assistant Lecturers Nu’man Munthir Nu’man and Ahmed Abdul-Latif.
The seminar aimed to present solutions and strategies to counter the economic effects of drug abuse while encouraging collaboration between governmental and private entities, as well as civil society, to mitigate these impacts.
The speakers emphasized the necessity of a community-based approach to addiction treatment by strengthening societal roles in adopting various methods to reduce addiction risks and combat drug abuse. These methods include increasing awareness of drug dangers, teaching healthy ways to cope with psychological stress, providing psychological and emotional support, promoting recreational activities, strengthening family bonds, and offering education and guidance.
It is worth noting that such activities align with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the recommendations of the Council of Ministers in the fight against drugs.
