Workshop on Research Citation Methods Held at the College of Education

The College of Education at the University of Samarra organized a two-day training workshop on “How to Cite Research Sources”, presented by Assistant Professor Bassam Abdulhakim Wahib and Assistant Lecturer Barda Anwar Jassim, both faculty members in the Department of Life Sciences.

The workshop aimed to introduce participants to academically approved methods for citing scientific sources and to enhance the citation skills of researchers and both undergraduate and graduate students. The goal was to ensure proper documentation of references according to standardized academic guidelines, thereby improving the quality of scientific research.

During the sessions, the instructors explained three widely used citation systems in scientific research: Harvard, Vancouver, and APA. These systems are among the most common in pure scientific disciplines.

The workshop concluded with several key recommendations, including emphasizing the accuracy of academic research and the importance of hands-on training in reference management software. Such tools facilitate the citation process and help avoid common referencing errors.
