Dr. Mohammed Madlool Ibrahim, Head of the Department of Islamic Finance and Banking at the College of Islamic Sciences at the University of Samarra, participated in the proceedings of the international scientific conference organized by the University of Sousse in Tunisia, titled “BETA’25 for Business and Economic Theories and Applications.”

The conference themes focused on several topics related to digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence (AI), including rethinking education in light of digital transformations, the future of economics in the age of AI, and linking economic and administrative research with AI applications.

Dr. Mohammed ‘s participation was represented by his research paper titled “The Role of Digital Transformation and Artificial Intelligence in Reshaping the Labor Market in Iraq,” in which he discussed the accelerating transformations the world is witnessing due to the development of digital transformation and AI technologies.

This development has contributed to reshaping the nature of jobs and the skills required in the labor market.
In his study, the researcher aimed to clarify the role of digital transformation and AI in reshaping the labor market in Iraq by analyzing the reality of adopting these technologies in governmental institutions and the private sector, measuring their impact on current job opportunities, required skills, and future employment trends.

In the same context, the research results indicated that digital transformation contributes to the creation of new jobs based on technical skills, while simultaneously leading to a decline in demand for some traditional jobs.

Furthermore, the prominence of Artificial Intelligence as a key factor in increasing productivity and improving the quality of services was highlighted, along with the existence of challenges related to the weak digital infrastructure, lack of skills, and slow institutional responsiveness.

In turn, the Department of Media and Governmental Communication congratulates the Head of the Department of Islamic Finance and Banking for his scientific contribution to the conference, an act that embodies the presence of Samarra University academics in various scientific forums.
