Seminar at the University of Samarra Explores the Art of Scientific Debates
The Deanery of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences organized an introductory seminar on the “Art of Debate,” in collaboration with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division at the presidency of the University of Samarra. The seminar was presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Adnan Talfah Mohammed, head of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Division, along with Ms. Sama Mohammed Abdullah and Mr. Ahmed Majid Hassan.
The organizers aimed to enhance students’ critical thinking and constructive dialogue skills through scientific debates, which are held annually by Iraqi universities. Additionally, they sought to prepare students to participate in local and international debate championships.
The seminar addressed the fundamentals of the art of debate, key persuasion skills, and highlighted the importance of debates in developing students’ awareness and culture.
The event witnessed significant interaction from attendees, reflecting their desire to develop skills in this field.
It is noteworthy that the university’s administration and its departments strive to establish a distinguished team to represent the university in upcoming competitions.
