The College of Engineering Organizes a Workshop on the Role of Engineering Projects in Community Development
The Human Rights Unit at the College of Engineering, University of Samarra, organized a workshop titled \”Engineering for Society: Projects That Benefit the Community,\” presented by Dr. Suhail Najm Abdullah. The workshop aimed to highlight the vital role of engineering in serving the community, addressing everyday problems, and providing practical and innovative solutions that contribute to improving quality of life and promoting sustainable development.
The workshop included a review of several engineering projects and ideas that can be employed to serve various sectors, such as energy, environment, infrastructure, and smart technologies. It also emphasized the importance of connecting the academic side with the real needs of the community and encouraging students and researchers to adopt projects with a direct positive impact.
Dr.Suhail pointed out that engineering is no longer limited to the technical aspect alone but has become an effective tool in supporting development and serving humanity through innovation and the development of solutions that help face challenges and achieve societal progress.
It is worth noting that the workshop saw interaction from the attendees, who praised the importance of these scientific activities in enhancing awareness of the role of engineering disciplines in building and serving the community.
