The Committee for Supporting the Implementation of the ISO and Environmental System Holds Its Third Regular Meeting in the Quality Assurance Department
The committee responsible for supporting the implementation of the ISO system for the environment, health, and safety at the University of Samarra held its third regular meeting in the Quality Assurance and University Performance Department. The consultant from the Iraqi Association for Quality Management Systems attended the meeting to discuss the steps required to prepare the university and meet the requirements for the second phase of the ISO system.
The attendees discussed ways to complete the necessary requirements related to the environmental system and occupational health and safety requirements and methods that would enhance the university’s environmental and health performance.
The committee members expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the preparation process, which aims to develop some of the university’s important aspects, including improving environmental and health performance levels, raising the quality of education and scientific research, and achieving excellence and leadership in higher education.
It is noteworthy that the university nominated 45 trainees from various university faculties to participate in a course on the application of quality systems, including the environmental ISO and the health and safety ISO. They received intensive training on implementing the requirements, policies, and procedures to achieve high environmental and health performance quality.
The meeting concluded with several decisions made by the committee to ensure the success of the preparation process. The most important decisions included preparing a work plan to implement the requirements for the third phase of the ISO system, providing the necessary resources for the implementation process, monitoring the progress of work, submitting regular reports on the achievements in the preparation process, and activating quality systems in the departments covered by the system.
