To Elevate The University Standing Among Global Universities Rector Of Samarra University Chairs Meeting For Global Ranking Officials At The University
Prof. Dr. Sabah Allawi Khalaf, Rector of Samarra University, chaired an extensive meeting at his office on Monday, December 1, 2025, to discuss the requirements of various international rankings and the mechanism for maintaining the university’s position in them.
The meeting included the Vice Rector for Scientific Affairs, and several academic staff members tasked with following up and being responsible for global rankings, and the managers of administrative departments working in the national and global rankings committees.
The University Rector emphasized the importance of focusing on the scientific and research requirements for the university’s staff to enter new rankings, in addition to the list of rankings Samarra University is already included in.
He also directed the formation of central and subsidiary committees within the university and its formations, dedicated to monitoring global rankings and the requirements of each ranking, in accordance with international standards, ensuring the university’s entry into them and the enhancement of current rankings.
In the same context, the Rector of Samarra University assigned his Scientific Vice Rector to define the committees and their chairpersons, and urged the university’s faculty members across various specialties to publish in international indexing databases and reputable journals, in addition to marketing their scientific output at the highest level.
The meeting concluded with assigning the concerned parties to follow up on the requirements and timelines and to establish a schedule for completing the tasks assigned to them. Additionally, they were instructed to develop an action plan for each ranking, along with a roadmap that enables the university to raise its status among global universities and compete with other universities.
