Agriculture College Organizes a Workshop for Female Students on the Importance of Technology
The Media and Government Communication Division at the College of Agriculture organized an educational seminar for the college’s female students titled “Encouraging Female Students to Engage with Technology and Inspire Innovation.” The session was presented by Assistant Lecturer Mahmoud Hamid Ibrahim and Assistant Lecturer Tolin Khaled Ibrahim, both faculty members at the college.
The Media Division aims through this seminar to educate female students about the importance of engaging in the field of technology and fostering innovative ideas that enhance their societal and institutional roles.
In his remarks, Mr. Hamid highlighted that women’s representation in the technology sector remains very limited, despite the rapid and expansive growth of this field, reaching unprecedented levels. He emphasized the need for female students to actively participate in this sector and keep pace with its rapid development to secure their future roles.
Ms. Ibrahim, on her part, stressed the importance of encouraging young girls, educating them, and introducing them to the fields of science and technology from an early age. This early exposure, she noted, is crucial to keeping up with the rapid and enormous advancements in these fields.
The workshop concluded with important recommendations, including the pivotal role of awareness and education in changing societal perceptions of women’s roles in technology. It also emphasized the need for supportive environments for women, starting from the family and extending to professional institutions, along with the necessity of increasing workshops, seminars, and campaigns that promote societal awareness.
